My sister had joined her friend’s birthday party and recorded all happy things happened with Canon 7D and wanted to edit the recordings before burn them to DVD. After downloaded the recordings (which are H.264 mov format) from Canon 7D to Mac hard disk, and imported them to FCP for editing, FCP refused, After trans-coding a number of 7d mov files to prores, we found the files getting MUCH darker pictures in FCP(6). It has been suggested to us that this was addressed in FCP 7, however it is not really practical for us to upgrade.
After googled on online, we find a tool named Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac, which support to transcode/Import/Convert Canon 7D MOV to ProRes and have a function to adjust the dark pictures with bright color, I tried and finally transcode Canon 7D MOV recordings successfully. The effect function also helps a lot in color correction as it said.
Following I will show you how to convert/transcode Canon 7D MOV to ProRes for FCP 6 and Adjust the Dark Pictures.
